Dolphins belong to a group of animals called Cetaceans. They are very intelligent animals. Like bats they use echolocation, which is making a sound and listening it bounce off objects to help find food. Dolphins make loud clicking noises which knock out small fish which they then gobble up.dolphins have more teeth than a crocodile but they do not chew their food
Dolphins do not have gills like fish. They breathe through a hole at the top of their heads. This means that they must come up for air. They live in groups and depend on each other to live. They swim in groups called pods. Female dolphins called aunts help the female dolphin when she is giving birth.
Most dolphins live in oceans but some have been known to live in large rivers. Do you know that dolphins cannot really smile? They just appear to do so. This is because dolphins cannot move their facial muscles like humans do . We must remember that these animals are wild animals and we must try to keep them safe.
